What we collect
When you play as a guest
We create a temporary guest record and store your games, rounds, decisions, scores, and session identifier. This lets you play for as long as you like and claim those games if you later create an account.
When you create an account
We store your email address, encrypted password, public username, and saved game history. Passwords are hashed and cannot be read by us. Previous usernames stay reserved so another player cannot impersonate an earlier identity.
Technical information
Our servers may process standard request data such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, and security events. In production we use self-hosted, privacy-conscious analytics to understand broad usage patterns.
What is public
Your username and qualifying high scores are visible to everyone. Your email address and password are never displayed. Guest runs do not appear on the public board until they are claimed by a registered account.
How we use and retain data
We use data to operate gameplay, save progress, calculate rankings, secure accounts, recover passwords, diagnose problems, and improve the service. Account and game data remain available while your account exists. Operational logs are kept only as long as they are useful for security and reliability.
Essential session cookies keep guest games attached to the right browser and signed-in players authenticated. We do not use advertising cookies.
Service providers
LongShortGame relies on infrastructure providers for hosting, content delivery, transactional email, error monitoring, and analytics. They process only the information needed to provide those services and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising.
Your choices
You can change your email and password from your account. You can change your public username once every 30 days. For access, correction, deletion, or another privacy request, email [email protected].
Changes
We may update this policy as the game changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be explained clearly.
